Panoramas of Corfu
Departing from the port or from your holiday accommodation, we drive along the scenic west coast to the hilltop village of Lakones and the lookout point known as Bella Vista. This impressive location offers spectacular views over the five bays of Paleokastritsa and the multi-hued emerald sea. In the distance the old monastery, founded in 1225, sits serenely over this popular resort.
Next we drive to Pelekas, a traditional village high above the sea. Here you will visit the Kaiser's Throne, perched on a rocky outcrop, and from where you can look down on most of Corfu and across to the mountains of mainland Greece and Albania. It is named after the German Emperor Kaiser Wilhelm who used to sit there each evening watching the sunset.
The tour continues to Kanoni. Immediately below Kanoni is a little island and the Monastery of Vlacherna; it is linked to the land by a causeway. A little further away is another small island called Pontikonisi or "Mouse Island". It has a chapel dating from the 13th century and its setting among the cypress trees is most picturesque. From Kanoni we return to the port or to your holiday accommodation.
